Please note
Gabriel August Maren Meyer (1996-2026) Gabriel August Maren Meyer of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on January 26th, 2026. Gabriel was born in Glendale, Arizona, to Heather Stevick on March 17th, 1996, and was adopted by Donald and Leti Meyer of Chandler, Arizona. He attended St. Mary-Basha Elementary School, Mountain Pointe High School, and Seton Catholic High School. He started work after high school designing network systems for corporate campuses and later enjoyed working as a cook in various restaurants. From a very early age it was clear that Gabe both loved and was gifted with music. He began to teach himself keyboard at 3 years old and learned to play just about any instrument he picked up: piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, and others we probably do not know about. He gave his gift of music to St. Mary’s Catholic Church as well as various other houses of worship, concluding with St. Bridget’s in Mesa. He loved to honor other family members on their birthdays. He looked forward to family birthday celebrations for just this reason. He would plan and think and deliver heartfelt words of praise and always managed to find some unique gift or meaningful action to expand on. Sadly, he struggled mightily his whole life to match the desires of his spirit with the limitations of his body and went to his eternal rest far too soon. Gabriel is survived by his parents, Don and Leti, his brother, Aaron, his sister, Chiara, and by his birth mother, Heather, and half-brother, Daniel. He is also survived by his grandparents, many loving aunts and uncles, and countless cousins who will miss him dearly. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church at 2213 N. Lindsay Rd. in Mesa, followed by a Celebration of Gabe’s Life in the social hall. Donations in honor of Gabriel can be made to the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church Music Ministry.
